Handler 187 Mig Welder Model #500525
Brand new for 2007 is the Handler 187 mig welder by Hobart Welders. This cool machine is a direct replacement and upgrade from Hobart's Handler 180. This portable machine delivers an impressive 185 amps of mig welding power in a well designed package. Capable of welding 24 gauge to 5/16 steel while handling a variety of metals including mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum. Operating off of 230 volt input power the Handler 187 comes with everything you need to start welding, just supply the shielding gas or use flux wire.
The best new feature for the Handler 187 is the seven position voltage switch. These new settings make it easier to match up to your material thickness and wire diameter. Compare this feature to the competitors and I am sure you will agree that for the money,
Hobart Welders, wins this battle. Basically more settings mean that you will have better control over your arc. This results in less spatter, great bead appearance, excellent penetration and a lot less post welding cleanup.
Convenience is the name of the game and Hobart had this in mind when they developed the Handler 187. For instance, you can change the wire spool and drive roller without digging out your tools. Also there is an internal storage area for all your spare tips.
Worry free welding with the Handler 187's self re-setting thermal overload system.
This mig welder comes with a 10 foot H-10 MIG welding gun, built in gas valve, 10 foot work clamp, power cord with plug, dual gauge regulator and hose. Plus Hobart also sends a sample spool of .030 flux cored wire and extra .030 contact tips.
The Handler 187 is the perfect machine for the serious hobbyist. Capable of handling the tough jobs without the big price tag.
